Be happier because you smile - a simple life hack
If you want to learn a life hack that makes relationships and your life easier, then watch this video.
People are naturally empathic and this can create overwhelm, sadness or depression in their life
Satomi: Everybody gets affected when they’re interacting with others. Especially when they are feeling low. At the end of the conversation, you’re feeling low.
As an empath, for me, it got pretty hard. And it got to the point that I felt like I was losing control of my life. And I was getting SO OVERWHELMED.
Paul: Yeah, you were just getting pushed around by other peoples’ feelings all the time right?
But a simple life hack can really help make the Law of Attraction work for you
Satomi: But then I tried a simple life hack
Satomi: But, one day I realized, of course, there’s a way to have control of my life back! And it was very, very simple.
Paul: What’s that?
Satomi: Just smile. Just simply, you smile when you interact with others. And you have a conversation with them, start with a smile. And what you are doing with them, you are initiating the interaction. Instead of you just receiving others.
Paul: Even before you start talking, you’re receiving.
Satomi: Yes, but you can start by sending out a positive vibe first.
Paul: Just with your smile.
Satomi: Yeah, they pick up on that. And their energy changes. And their mood changes. And then I receive better energy from them. And then my days have gotten WAY EASIER! It’s very simple, just a smile, made a HUGE DIFFERENCE! Especially if your an empath, feeling everybody’s feelings.
Paul: Or just empathic.
Satomi: Yeah.
Paul: A lot of people are empathic. And that will help them. And you’re attracting what you want in that dynamic. It’s the Law of Attraction at work. You take the initiative and direct the situation to create more happiness. And then the universe (including the people around you) responds and bring more happiness to you. And that cycle can break through patterns of sadness and depression.
Satomi: Yeah. Just try it out and see what happens. It really helped me.
Paul fought depression and difficult life situations - a simple smile really helped
Paul: Actually, this has been a big deal for me, because I remember when we were just starting to make our very first video. We did a couple of takes and then we reviewed them. And I saw myself in the video and I was like “I look so mad. I was smiling, I was happy in that video. What’s the deal?”
Then the kids turned to me and said, “Dad, you always look like that.”
And I was like “Oh my God! Seriously?”
That really affected me.
So I put some effort in. More effort into smiling in general, right?
Satomi: Yeah
Paul: And what happened was, my face opened up. [laughter]
Satomi: [laughter]
Paul: [laughter] It kind of melted. Right? Kind of like the Frost Man or something. My face began to show emotion. Or I felt happier. It wasn’t that I was smiling because I was happy, I was happy because I was smiling.
Satomi: Yeah.
Paul: So I got more and more into a better, positive space. And there’s been other things that we have done, but this has been a contributing factor that has really helped me.
Satomi: Yeah. Just a smile right?
Paul: Yeah. But it took effort at the beginning. But it was really worth it.
Satomi: Yeah. It can change your life right?
Satomi uses a simple smile to heal empathic overwhelm
Satomi: This also makes me think of another time... One Sunday, Paul had a rough day. So I was walking. And a guy on a bike just passing by said to me “Where did you get that?” Right?
And I said “Huh?”
And then he said “Your smile!” [laughter]
Paul: [laughter]
Satomi: [laughter] And then he just kept going. That made my day.
Paul had a bad day.
Paul: Yeah, I had a bad day. [laughter]
Satomi: [laughter] And that affected me. But I kept on smiling as I was interacting with strangers. And that lifted my mood up.
Paul: Yeah.
A simple life hack for you to try
Satomi: Yeah. Today’s life hack is to smile more than you’re used to doing. Especially when you interact with people, just start with a smile and then just smile here and there. When it’s appropriate of course.
And then most importantly, take a mental note of how you feel after you smile. And note how they react and how you feel.
But fair warning
Satomi: At first, it may be harder than you think. And it may have a way bigger effect than you think if you keep it up. These key points are especially true if you are fighting with sadness, depression or emotional overwhelm.

Satomi: Aaaah! Cold! It was ice, is that ice? [laughing]
Paul: [laughing] I think I saw an iceberg float by. You ready to get back in?
Satomi: [laughing]
Paul: [laughing] It was easier the second time wasn’t it?
